Traffic Sign Recognition

Featured Replies

I know that in my 2017 Octavia VRS I could use OBD 11 to activate TSR, but in my 2013 Superb L&K this is not shown on the OBD 11 menu. The question is why?

Definitely 2013? As in Mk2? If so, that’s a different forum and might get more experienced owners there…

My mistake - i'm digitally compromised - it 's a 2023! Just wishing I was 10 years younger!

In which case there is this…but…I’m not sure it works with facelift or whether you can perform it with OBD11:

I don't think it does. Others have tried and it's all tied in with Travel Assist.

It was only a £210 option on the L&K, it should have been standard.

Thanks all, it’s not absolutely necessary, I’ve got Waze and Sygic but it would be great if the speed limit was shown in the virtual cockpit! You would think Skodas premium (L&K) offering would have included it as standard! Mind you, on both my Octavia and Corolla the TSR was not always that reliable, and on both often defaulted to the map info which was often out date, and sometimes when I joined a motorway the last speed limit before joining was shown and did not change until an overhead matrix showed a speed limit!

Traffic sign recognition is a bit shonky in my experience anyway. My 2020 L&K will often pass an NSL and declare it a 30, applying the brakes, for example.

Sometimes you're bowling along and there's no signs at all, and it suddenly decides it's a 30. On go the brakes. The internal Skoda map (Here maps) or TomTom,Waze or Google maps don't think that bit is a 30.

I complained at the dealer, they lent me a courtesy VW with the same system so they could "apply a software update", which made no difference.

The VW I borrowed did exactly the same at exactly the same places.

For TSR, navi is mandatory?

For Superb III 07.2019 and upwards traffic sign recognition activates by SWaP codes

It’s also possible hack it
