Hi all, potentially converting my cold cloth seats to heated leathers from another mk1. I assume there is space in the fusebox even If my car didn’t come with it but if i get all the hard ware like loom, wiring and buttons would i be alright? Also, will it have to be coded in with software, and if so what is that software. Finally, where on earth do people put the buttons because i can’t figure it out.

Can't comment on the first part, as I've never looked into that. You'd probably be correct.

With regards to coding it in, which is likely, it would be done with vcds. There's a list of people with access to vcds somewhere on the forum you can ask if you get to that point.

The factory buttons go into the bottom 2 blanks, one on either side of the radio (or drawer depending on what radio yours has). Slightly taller than the rear demister button which is fitted in the same panel
