convenience window closing stopped working yesterday

Featured Replies

has anyone had a problem not being able to shut/open windows from keyfob ? checked settings all ticked also reset windows

Change the key battery. Even if that is not the fix, you need to rule it out as the easy first step.

I had to reset my window settings after the battery was disconnected for fitting a towbar, this restored the one shot up and down and the sunroof operation.

I was handed the solution by a forumite and it involved using each window switch to open, then release the switch then hold down for another second, and the same for up. Had to do each window from the driver's console.

He says he has already done that.

This may be an odd sugestion but I have just fixed my car after this started happening. Mine turned out to be a broken plastic clip in the window switch mechanism which meant that the switch didn't operate all the way! It went far enough for the manual mode but didn't get to the second click for the auto. It worked fine for the up but not for the down was the giveaway.

thanks joe windows seem to work fine in all other ways, just refused to close or open when button held on remote or door sensor. used to work great and could lock car and close windows from upstairs in the house now car only locks 👍

@sparky103 is there a 'convenience windows' setting in the Infotainment menus. If so try unchecking it and then checking it again.
