Car tax on 2025 2.0 sportline

Featured Replies

Hi all

I was going to look at a sportline but then thought will this model be subject to the luxury road tax for the next 3 or 4 years? Do any relatively current owners know?

If the retail price is over £40k then yes you’ll pay the higher tax.

Just add well i asked list is 41,650

If you know the reg no then use the GOV UK to look up the vehicle details, you don't need to know the original list price, the Additional Rate applicable until line is inly present if the additional rates apply. The 24 plate 2.0 TSI Sportlines were just under the £40k limit if the only 'extra' was the space saver spare wheel. I suspect with price increases the 2.0 TSI and 2.0 TDI Sportlines will all be over the limit but the 1.5 TSI may not be.

First year VED rate is much higher but only applies to the first owner. I bought a 6 month old 73 plate Sportline and the VED for 12 months was £190.
