Car is not starting

Featured Replies

Just used the car yesterday (no warnings, driving normally), and went to start the car today but it does not start.

Initially though it is the battery, but it didn't start after jump start.

There is no noise when I turn the key over, what are the possible problems?

Never had any issue before this.

On earlier Fabias, silent non-crank non-start was/is often caused by breakage of the starter solenoid wire adjacent to the connector where it goes onto the solenoid. Not sure which angle it might be visible from on a mk2 1.2 TSI, possibly easier to see from below.

Do the dash lights come on when turning key to pre start position?

Not even a single "clonk"? If that's the case, I think @Breezy_Pete suggestion of a broken solenoid wire may well be right.

Thank you very much, will get the broken solenoid wire checked out tomorrow!
