Hi good day.. Just want to ask about my skoda octavia 1.6 2015 diesel. Automatic transmission.. I just bought it last February this year Coz while i was driving gearbox faulty showed up on dashboard then car is not accelarating... I turned it off and warning sign still showed up. A friend of mine just told me to do a gearbox reset.. I do what he says. Turned the car on again warning sign is gone. But check engine light showed up.. And manage to return home. Then yesterday my friend he used a scanner and he says there are no error codes that showed up. Check engine light is gone too. Used the car today it runs nicely no any delays ir jerking on gears. But its like i still want to have a piece of advice coz im afraid i might got stuck again on the road if that will happen again.

If it drives OK and there are no fault codes it's difficult to diagnose the problem. A failing battery can often throw up some strange warnings/symptoms so it maybe worth checking the Cold Cranking Amps to see if the issue lies there. The DQ200 doesn't have a particularly good reputation for reliability and is known as the weakest transmission in the range.

Was the scan done using something like VCDS or OBDEleven? If it was a generic OBD scanner it may have missed VW specific codes.
