Octavia VRS mk2 digital speedo?

Featured Replies

Hey there,

Recently got a 2008 Octavia VRS 2.0 TFSI and I can't seem to figure out how to display the speed on the instrument cluster screen. Right side wiper control buttons cycle through options but none of them are show the current speed. Is it even possible?

I'm fairly sure it is a "Maxi-Dot" display as it does show when a door is open etc.

On a 2008 it's not possible on the standard screen.

You can buy a PolarFIS that gives additional driving data on the screen including speed, but they're not cheap

Thanks for the reply, I see.

Quite wasteful, as it does have the information and the ability to display it. Shame the PolarFIS is expensive and there aren't any chinese knock-offs.

There are a couple of similar devices to the polar fis, there is a FIS-control unit, but again it's quite pricey. You might be able to get one second hand.

There is the other option of retrofitting a maxidot cluster from a facelift car.
