To preface we have just got back from a 1500 miles round trip around scotland. The last two days we did about 500 miles of that trip back home. We had also travelled some rough single track dirt roads at times so the octy has had it a little rough.

On the final 5 miles of the trip We stopped off at the supermarket to pick some food up and I noticed on leaving that at around 2000RPM in any gear when I put my foot down on the accelerator there would be a delay before it would then jump up.

This is the first time it has happened I have since driven it again after it had cooled and found no issues. However, I want to keep the car as long as possible so want to get a lot of it sorted. I have seen some potential causes one being the timing belt which I was already awaiting parts to do that anyway but want to know if anybody on here has any other suggestions.

I did recently going away scan it with VCDS and got the fault code P1855 - Data Bus Power Train Software Version Control which cleared and did not return. Don't know if that was purely down to me disconnecting the battery a couple times as I scanned it a week earlier and did not have that issue. I have also been underneath it and noticed the pipe between to turbo and intercooler is a little wet.

The only similar thing I've ever experienced proved to be wear on the accelerator pedal position sensor. If it's the same issue it will keep doing this until the potentiometer track wears through, at which point it will go into limp mode and needs a new throttle pedal assembly.
