Another 2015 wanting CarPlay

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Another new owner here, just bought a 2015 Mk3 Fabia.

Here's the current specs under system information:

Installed SW Train: MST2_EU_SK_ZR_P0138T

Installed SW MU Version: 0138

Device part number: 5Q0035820

Software Version: H21.50.93_STD2_EU

Judging by other threads I need the new unit behind the screen, @pab567 I think I need your help, please PM me as I have less than 20 posts.

Many thanks

Andy

I’m also interested in getting CarPlay, my unit has the same specs.

Any help is appreciated!

Hi guys, I'm also new here, but I had the same issue as you and the easiest way is buying and installing a new head unit. The hardest part is finding one for a fair price, the installation is simple and pretty straightforward. If you don't buy "unlocked" unit, you will just have to handle a theft protection system, which is quite easy, if you buy an Amundsen. After that, you will need to unlock SmartLink (also very easy on Amundsen) and you're good to go. It may also be a good idea to change coding, so it will show you correct settings for assistants in the menu.

I recommend visiting local scrapyards and if you're lucky, you will find your needed unit somewhere. For example I found an MIB2 Amundsen (model 874B with DAB) for just 200 euros from a crashed Rapid.

Big thanks to @pab567 who sent me a pre-coded later Bolero unit, super quick turnaround and very easy transaction. After receiving the unit, you need to take out the glovebox, use the provided keys to remove the old unit, swap over the wiring and insert the new unit ... and I now have CarPlay.

Hi. I have just bought a 2015 Fabia and its only got the 5Q0035820. @pab567 I would be interested in a quote for a pre-code Bolero unit as mentioned above. I would DM you but I am new to the forum. Thanks.
