Hi,

I have a 2021 Skoda Scala 1.5 Manual, I was just wondering that whilst my car is warming up it tends to pop louder. Don’t worry I wait until it’s just about to go to 1k rpm I would never cold start and rev, but if I do before it does go to 1k it has a much louder pop then when it’s warm. Wondering if there is a way to make it like that all the time? I’ve got no muffler or resonator (slightly deaf)

You have a GPF and a Catalytic converter both getting heated up ASAP and more fuelling to do that.

Even pre GPF a TSI will tick over for about 40 seconds at 1,100 rpm before dropping.

PS

I am slightly deaf as well, and not interested in someone else's car with all the noise and no real go.

Why would anyone else be?

Ah okay it’s just the extra fuel being used to heat it up asap that’s making it run more rich and then produce a louder pop.

Yeah it doesn’t have much go, just trying to have fun before I can get a car with some real go as I can’t have a car with more than 130kw/per tonne on my current license. I do have the race chip gts, cold air and bov so it’s not super slow 😅

I am sure it is a crowd pleaser and attracts attention.
