Phone mount in area between steering wheel and door (not vents)

Featured Replies

Hi. Has anyone got any ideas for a good stable phone mount that can fit in the area circled in the image, that is, between the steering wheel and the driver's door, but not blocking the air vents?

Ideally, a large piece of pre-bent metal could hook into the fascia at the top and bottom of the red ellipse, giving a stable mounting plate for a phone mount. I've looked at the Brodit ProClip options for the Kodiaq, but they aren't quite right. I even emailed them suggesting the new location, but they didn't seem interested.

Or does anyone know if any of their existing mounts for other makes and model cars would fit there? They do make some likely looking mounts like the one pictured below (for a Peugeot/Citroen), but no idea if it would fit.

I’ve just bought a used kodiaq and it has a phone mount in that space. It’s a sort of folding stalk with a mag-mount on the end and can be used folded or extended. I took some pics for you. The name on it seems to say Lisen. Sadly it doesn’t charge the phone, just holds it but it does that pretty well.

That's not going to be distracting whilst driving in the slightest.🙄

Thanks. I didn't really consider attaching something to that panel, but I guess that's an option. I worry a little about leaving marks on the panel, which is why I liked the idea of the ProClip-type option, where it gets hooked in between the panels, supposedly leaving no marks (I've never actually tried one, just read the hype!)
