iPhone 16 issues

Featured Replies

Just upgraded to an iPhone 16 and found it is not possible to connect to the infotaintment system via usb on my. 2018 Karoq. It requires a USB to USB C lead and was advised to use data cable. It still does not connect though. Is there a software update? Has anyone had the same issue and how was it resolved.

Hi, this is the welcome section so, hi and welcome to Briskoda, Rob. thumbup

I'll report your post so that admin/ mods know and can move your post to the Karoq section where you'll more likely get some assistance.

I think you need a usb a to lightning cable for an iphone

I think Apple were forced to use USB C on the 16 , EU standards

Didn't know that. Thanks. Not before time!

A further thought. On my car, non-VW group, Samsung phone. My phone requires a code. Google maps will not stat unless the phone is unlocked. May be true for your et-up as well.

Yes even a real phone, a Samsung has to give apps permission to talk to your car or computer or whatever. Is in APPS/ Pick one/ permissions/ Click on what you want

My 16 pro works fine on my MY2020 SE, might be a cable issue as my USB A to C cable is from the Apple Store, not all cables are born equal.

As said above it depends on how you have your permissions set AND which cable you are using. Temu isnt a good place to buy from LOL

I will try a lightening cable, but not optimistic. I think the issue is due to the age of the car.

Don't know how helpful it is, but my iPhone15 works fine on our 2018 SEAT Ateca, using the USB A (car) to USB C (phone) cable.

I think it’s a Skoda problem. I’ve have tried various combinations so far to no avail. Info system may need an upgrade I think.
