Couple of other Fab questions

Featured Replies

ok first of all the immobiliser on a fab vRS is it a thatcham cat one or classed as just standard? also for insurance are skoda insurance any good? or should i look elsewhere? if so where? reason i ask is that im 20 and get stung with insurance

Dunno  :D

The alarm system on the Fabia vRS is a Thatcham Cat 1. For insurance, I'd try confused.com as a starting point, but as a 20 year old, don't expect it to be cheap! :D

mine doesnt have an alarm just an immobiliser

best quote ive had so far is about

mine doesnt have an alarm just an immobiliser

>Pantomime mode< Oh yes it does!

Assuming it's a proper UK spec car?

Chris

Maybe the "BEEP", or "BEEP BEEP" has been turned off

Maybe the "BEEP", or "BEEP BEEP" has been turned off

Aren't they set to off out of the factory....?

Aren't they set to off out of the factory....?

Chris

Belive so............But I understand that some people have them turned off as the "BEEP" can be annoying at 3 in the morning. Perhaps they've never been turned on ...........Vag-com should sorted it....Andy

Beeps should be off from the factory.

But all Fabia vRS's have a std alarm and immobilizer.

Apologies for the previous post, I was a little worse for wear!

Which internet companies have you tried, Direct Line, Elephant, Esure, Admiral? I've heard they can be competitive for younger drivers. Also obviously try Chris Knott (see posts on here) who are a broker and should be able to get you a decent price.

Now where are those hangover cures :D

i thought they came standard with fab, but i was told there was no alarm

to try the alarm , sit in the car and press the lock button on the remote , wait 30 seconds or so then wave an arm about inside , the alarm should sound , be quick with the remote to turn the alarm back off so you dont upset the neighbours
