Featured Replies

hi all new to the club!!!

noise heard inside cab

Can anyone help while driving at around 30mph rotational engine noise appears then gets louder at 70mph then when reducing speed from 70 to 50 louder rotational noise sounds a a tyre but is not all new tyres front left fronway front right debica

rear left fronway rear right old conti eco6

also does tramline

tracking done saw him only adjust driver side

happened after replacing a battered damaged front driver side shock absorber

checked bearings nothing

could this be a a slight leak from the rocker cover???

or the undertray slight broken???

Which model, engine, gearbox?

Welcome.

How did the shocker get battered?

Was there a kerbing / pothole incident?

Why did you not pay to have both shocks replaced?

If you have un-matching tyres on the same axle then some noise might be expected.

4 wheel alignment done by a competent person might be a good idea.

& things in pairs that match.

?

What is the Rocker cover about.

thanks pal

rocker. over seals leaking puddle of oil not diesel fuel

the shock driver side was a year old brand new genuine and again brand new genuine it was knocking like loudly must have been a faulty batch all documented and fitted in front of me by competent experiences mechanic with right tools

replaced all hardware pinch bolts top shock lock nut and mounts but reused on new shock absorber driver side just the mounts reused as deemed perfect working parts rest new nuts shock and reused sachs spring as in good solid condition

if i could post pictures id put them on here

alignment done with hunter tracked straight best fuel economy shell diesel

I didnt hit any pot holes thank fully always on the look out and going around them or really slow

I drive very consciously believe it or not and never hit the pedal

it boils down to affordability its a lovely car mostly done motorway miles drives a dream but funds for all these repairs

Ive bought the genuine bits

I got another brand new genuine shock absorber for the left side waiting to go on

im guessing the rears need doing mot guy marked them yellow cross

unfortunately I cannot post the video I have of the noise its so clear

i agree on tyres but again cost affordability

Ive always done an oil service using genuine quantum oil ll3 fro TPS and oil filter

funny thing is with the rocker cover leak it isnt consuming any oil

just puddle around the seals over dripping down to tray

not the ground

thanks for your reply
