S-Update to PV4 (90EE)

Start date : 23-06-2025

For Superb and Kodiaq vehicles from a limited production period, there is a risk that the following complaints may occur due to software errors: • Error messages may pop up sporadically when starting the vehicle • Discharge of the 12V battery • Failures of assistance systems • Failures when displaying the map on the display • Sporadically the engine cannot be started, the starter does not turn For the affected vehicles it is necessary to update the baseline to PV4 and replace the 12V battery if necessary.

Mine is just getting the 90EE and 94EW +the fixes for half page failure list. They are estimating 4-5 days, mainly software updates.

Any update about the 90EE update? I need to have this done as well, although I never had any of the listed issues.

Hi,

It was done on my car together with 94EW.

Several controller were not accepted the upate and the car kind of died during the software update, and it took 8 workdays to get back in live. It was done remotely by a Skoda engineer from the factory after the locals were failed.

Most of the faults are fixed. The car feels even more precise and balanced now. (E.g. lane assist doesn't jerk the steering wheel like a idiot, it stays calmly on the midle of the road)...

I do not know is there any connection, but now the seat adjustment having a 3-5s delayed recaction and the seat ventillation even weaker now.

After the 90EE update, the electric drive is a bit more smooth and I have no issues so far, just like before the update. Seats adjustment and ventilation are still working fine. The only issue I had was fixed: the passenger mirror was going down when reversing, then back to the correct position after driving forward but was still going down after a few seconds and was staying like that; not the best way tto switch lanes with no visibility.

It took them 6h+8h (two days), they had to ask Skoda for help. I also received the “Safe Battery” option, but I left it disabled, I always charge to 100%.

Good info, how do I get to that screen so that I can check mine? Thanks.

That would be in Car Settings> Settings> Information> System Information.

Mine went in for the update last week. When I bought the car I chose this PHEV because I have a 56 mile motorway round trip that I take about 3 times a week and I wanted to go on electric. On those days I charge to 100% overnight. The new update has scuppered this as it now effectively won't charge past 80%. The new battery saver "feature" resets itself after each charging session so even if you turn it off and set charging to 100% it won't get there if you use a tariff such as Octopus Intelligent Go with an Ohme charger that delivers the charge in "bites" overnight. I'm very disappointed.

Other issues: I get a message every day that says "App updates available" but when I try to update the car just says that updating is currently not available. There are also new features such as pay for fuel from the car and pay for parking. Neither do anything.

I've had all the usual problems since I bought the car such as emergency braking without reason and 12v battery discharge (which I fixed by keeping the keys in a Faraday cage). The ACC is unusable at low speeds where there are parked cars or cyclists. Overall I think the PHEV is a decent car let down by poor software. Needless to say the two other (unrelated) issues I raised with the service department when I took the car in, remained unfixed.

I'm also very disapointed due forced battery saving. Rarely charging over 90%, but sometimes I forget to change the limit and it drives me crazy. If I realise in time, I can change the limit from the Skoda app as well.

I had the new update available issue before the software update. Now there are no update message until now (2 months).

What is getting to worse is to maintain the battery level in manual mode. Especially on long trips it tries to figure out the ammount of recuperation, and consumes this energy in the early phase of the trip. E.g. -10-15% is consumed, then end of the trip only 5% recuperated. Therefore it drained 10%, by the setting maintain the charge level....The only solution is to highly focus to the engine rev, and kick the pedal immediately when it tries to switch on electric...sometimes it means 15 kick/minute...

I do agree, the hardware is pretty nice, but the software was written by one of the competitor, who wants to bankrupt the skoda...piece of ****
