Featured Replies

lets say if I was to sell my 55plate vrs fabia with all extras except sat nav for 10.5k or 11k. what car could I get for up to 5k eg lets say "vr6 highline golf ,golf rally, g60 seat toledo V5 170bhp with the extras . seat cupra 1.8t bmw 318 compact msports the one with the body kit any more you like to say?

Polo GTi

From that list, you'd probably get a VR6 but would have high mileage I would imagine. Toledo might be a decent buy as not many people want them, so it's quite a bit of car for the money - they like a drink though! Leon Cupra I doubt you'd get for 5k without sky-high mileage and I don't really like Compacts.

I went through a very similar list to yours, as I had a similar budget.

My 2001 GTi's coming up for sale, as I need a TDi again. 67k and in very good condition. PM if interested.

5k???? about 7,500€ will get you a 5-8yr old pile-o-dross with 250,000kms+

saw a 1989 UNO for sale for 1,500€ UK value = 5£ if that? unreal!

Wish the prices here dropped a LOT! I'm not paying 800€ less than brand new on a car 2yrs old and 200k on the clock! You cannot imagine how many dealers have been told to go FFFF themselves ;)

280+bhp Scooby or Evo

For £5k I'd buy that green Scooby Waggon that was on here last week

Failing that, Nissan 200SX

sorry for all its worth but only german and vag cars I am considering

I was in the exact same position as you, and went through basically all of the options above. In the end, it came down to something that was well built, reasonably cheap to run, reliable, had some character about it which meant reasonably rare. It also had to have around 60k on the clock, so I could guarantee it had life left in it.

The car that meets all of the above (for me anyway!) is for sale. For the only reason being that I need diesel economy again. You're appear reasonably local, so CLICK and if you think it might suit, give me a shout :)
