FELICIA WINDSCREEN REPLACEMENT

Featured Replies

My 98 Skoda Felicia needs to have its front windscreen replacement as it is cracked and I'm not finding any available ones in Malta.

However I am finding Skoda Favorit ones, would these fit as visually they look very similar.

Thanks in advance for your help and comments.

A member @Thefeliciahacker has changed his windshield with an aftermarket.

Be aware for cheap Chinese made, do not worth the cost and the visibility is not good.

Thanks, however none are available locally neither imitation brands.

Stay away from Chinese crap like BSG

Italian market? From a CZ store?

But do Favorit ones fit? I have noticed that they look very similar and lack the black tint which covers the dashboard area.

Getting one from Sicily could be an option.

Thanks in advance for your help and comments.

Searching with the phrase: Parabrezza Skoda Felicia

i have found many of them, avoid the cheap ones.

Stupid question maybe, but don't you have an insurance on your windows, and isn't there something like CarGlass in Malta? I've seen my own windshield being replaced and it's not an operation I'd like to try myself. It didn't even look that easy when done with all the right tools...

The windscreen has the same shape, but Favorit doesn't have mount for the center mirror.

I don't think that it's mandatory to have glass insurance, some drivers to save money they don't buy that option.

Each country is different of course, but there are options that are too "cheap" not to offer yourself. My insurance agent convinced me that the "fire & theft" option would be one of those ("if you can pay this option, how can you afford to replace your car if needed?") but sadly didn't for the 0-km road-side assistance option. I didn't even know that I could only get assistance beyond 50km from home until I burst a big cooling hose at about 30km and had to pay for the tow truck.

Getting a next-day, "free" replacement of a side-window in a previous car in the middle of a real winter was nice too, as was a 2nd windshield replacement when the one we just had replaced was adorned with a beautiful crack thanks to a maniac overtaking us on a road that had just been gravelled.

BTW, the glass insurance isn't so much an option here as a separate insurance, just like the road-side assistance.

GREECE today:

The mandatory coverages in car insurance are Third Party Liability and Natural Disasters (such as forest fire, flood, etc.). Third Party Liability coverage covers material damage and bodily injury caused to third parties by your vehicle. The obligation to have insurance in the event of natural disasters applies from 01/01/2025 and concerns all private and commercial vehicles.

Explanation: Third Party Liability:

This coverage is mandatory and covers damage that your vehicle may cause to third parties, such as other cars, pedestrians, or property.

Natural Disasters: From 01/01/2025, all vehicles must be insured for damage caused by natural disasters, such as forest fire, flood, and earthquake. This means that if your vehicle is damaged by any of these phenomena, the insurance company will compensate you.

Before 01/01/2025:

Car insurance is mandatory by law for every vehicle on Greek roads. The most basic and economical option is simple or basic car insurance, also known as civil liability. Although this is the minimum coverage required, it is important to know exactly what is included and what is not, in order to avoid misunderstandings or unforeseen events in the event of an accident. What does simple car insurance include? First of all, basic insurance covers damage caused by the driver to third parties, whether it is material damage or bodily injury. That is, if a traffic accident occurs for which the insured is responsible, the insurance company will cover the compensation to the other vehicle involved or the people who were injured. This coverage applies either to other vehicles, or to pedestrians or passengers in the other car. In addition, simple insurance usually includes coverage for material damage to third-party property, such as railings, walls, storefronts or public infrastructure, if an accident occurs.
