Navigation & Firmware Update Issue – 2020 MK3.5

I’m having an issue updating the navigation system and firmware on my recently purchased 2020 MK3.5 and would appreciate some guidance.

Here’s what I’ve done so far:

  • Accessed the official Skoda update portal, entered my VIN, and downloaded the latest map package (approx. 8GB).

  • Formatted an SD card to FAT32, extracted the contents of the download, and copied the “map” folder and the TXT file to the SD card root.

  • Removed the navigation SD card from the SD1 slot in the car and inserted the updated SD card.

When I do this, the system displays “No Nav Data” and does not detect any update on the card.

I’ve carefully followed the official instructions as well as several reputable YouTube guides, and I’ve tested with multiple SD cards, but the outcome is the same.

My question is: Does the update process require using the original OEM navigation SD card? I’ve avoided modifying the original card so far to prevent any potential issues, but I’m wondering if that’s the key to getting this update to work.

Any advice or confirmation from those who’ve successfully completed this update would be greatly appreciated.

Have you used an official Skoda sd card?

If not, it won't work.

No as didnt want to screw anything up, is there a way to back up the card first?

Then SD Card with correct CID or OEM Card and have To stay in the SD Slot one

The Picture is Firmware

Plug the card into a PC and copy ALL files onto your HDD/SSD.
