Bonnet alignment

Featured Replies

Hi all,

New Skoda superb mk3 owner here, and forum member, and I have a question about something that has been bugging me since I recently purchased the car.

Specifically, the bonnet looks like it overhangs the front side panels of the car on both sides. Is this something that all the cars have, and if so, why?

I saw another superb in a car park today and had a quick look at its bonnet, and it also seemed to overhang. At the very least they are not flush. Seems to also have quite a gap in the front of the bonnet, between that and the grilk/front the car.

Was this just an odd design choice?

Thanks in advance.

Steve

Yes.

Mine also - makes at least 3 !

Like that since new, drains off nicely when you wash the bonnet? 😄

Yes they are all like that.

Thanks all,

Now I know that it's by design I'll come to love it, for its niche airflow inlet and rain cover protection, rather than just be suspicious that some one put an old bonnet on it 😁

That's wat happens when u switch from pre-facelt to facelift, keeping the same bonnet, but changing the bumper, grille and headlights.

Ur going to get some slight variances.
