Can anyone help me assess the damage?

Video of damage

Is anyone able to tell me if there’s any structural damage ect here? The washer tank blew open and wheel arch is cracked but the impact was on the far edge of the vehicle. I have a guy in my village who thinks he can fix for 800 quid does that seem realistic? Thanks

Depending on the depth of the impact you will be looking at either outer skin damage (headlamp, bumper, possibly wing) or - if deeper - the assortment of bracketry that links the chassis to the skin. You haven't given the model year of your car so I've attached parts diagrams from LLLParts for the bumper and wing for a 2010 facelift mk2 Octy to give you an idea. It won't be possible to make an accurate assessment of damage until the damaged outer skin elements are removed.

BTW there are plenty of facelift mk2 Octys on offer from breakers.

No one is going to give you an answer about structural damage based off a (no offence meant buddy) shaky phone camera video shot in the dark by flash light, moving around the outside of the vehicle.

If there is structural damage, it’s deeper in and too difficult assess without actually looking at the vehicle.

Depending on how hard a hit it was there could be chassis damage/alignment problems as well as drive shaft issues and engine/gearbox mounts etc it could be a long list. If you are going to repair it then it might be worth getting it checked for alignment/bent chassis first before spending money on it and discovering its a rightoff. You might be able to get a body shop to check it as a homer/cash for you.
