People saying my car doesn't exist

Featured Replies

MOT check on gov.uk says it has 1984cc engine.

Door pillar has code of DKZA

It's a petrol facelift Octavia with a 4x4 badge on the back. Fuel economy and handling also suggests 4x4 (it's not a scout)

Can anyone help me get to the bottom of what car I have??!

Thanks

You could try this VIN decoder from eBay.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/226517872578

Costs €3 and runs to about 6 pages (pdf). It should tell you all about your car.

A quick look under the rear should clarify 4x4. The 4x4s only had the diesel engine.

How can I check? It's 100% a petrol. Fuel cap says E5, engine says TSI and I've been running it on petrol

Auto shift stick also has 4x4 badge

Also the 4th character of the VIN is M - Combi, right-hand drive, 4x4

Are you checking reg plate or chassis number?

if 4x4 it will have a differential at the back.

Has it been written off?

RAC check says it's 4x4 petrol and hasn't been written off

Apologies, my mistake. It's the VRS that was diesel only.

oooohhh - no no; there was a (rare) Scout 1.8 litre engine TSI engine that had 4x4 as an option. It stopped being spec'd from 2017. Very few were ever made as their MPG was terrible (from memory, 28-32mpg if I remember correctly).

Nothing to support it being a scout and the cylinder capacity is 1984

The 2.0l tsi 4x4 does exist

Skoda have historically announced a 2.0 190bhp 4x4 Octavia petrol.... Where are you based and what year / model is your Octavia as different markets got different models and specs.

Skoda Octavia Estate 2.0 TSI 190PS 4x4 DSG auto 5d specs & dimensions

Think this was registered in Hampshire / Dorset area number plate is HX19

They definitely did a 2.0 TSI 4x4 in a Mk3 - just not many were sold (a bit like our Mk2 TDI non-scout 4x4...

Quite a few 2.0's 4X4s for sale here in Germany. There also apears to be the odd 1.5 (1,498CC) plus 1.8 TSI's
