Upgrading audio on 2022 Kamiq Monte Carlo ?

Featured Replies

Hello, I'm extremely happy with my 2022 Kamiq Monte Carlo, except for a few things, the most important of them being the ok/mediocre sound system (the base one with like 4 or 6 speakers). I ordered the car during Covid, so an audio upgrade was not available.

My question is this - Has anyone here upgraded their Kamiq audio system with some 3rd party system like Bose / JBL / Harmon Kardon, etc ? If so, are there any gotchas I need to be aware of ? Is it possible for such an upgrade to do some damage or cause some infotainment features to no longer work or anything like that ? Of course, I would go to a shop and get it done professionally.

Also, is it possible to get such an upgrade from Skoda directly ? I know they offer a 10 speaker system with their newer Kamiqs. I would be open to this if it's a safer / better option.

Any tips/experiences you can share would be great, thank you! I'm in Germany, if that helps.

Be careful if going for an aftermarket solution. Poor fitment of speakers into the doors can cause water leaks into the cabin.

Thanks, that's interesting ... have you gotten it done ? I didn't think of that.

Nope, but another member has had a problem.

Yeah, it's the reason why I have put a sealant bread under the original speaker when I installed door retractable protection

Ok, thanks for letting me know. I would hope that the pro guys would be aware of such problems ... I will check with them when I get the work done.
