Loss Of Rear Right Lights

Featured Replies

So over the last week or so I have been getting "check right rear break light" pop up on the dash - No problem I thought it'll just be a bulb, only for a couple of days later the indicator bulb was also coming up as blown

Yesterday I finally got around to getting the new bulbs and have tried to fit it today.

Took the light cluster out but for the life of me couldn't undo the connector - I did eventually get it off with some screwdriver persuasion and found it to be a little corroded on the pins within the plug

Anyway, swapped the bulbs over for the new ones, old ones weren't burnt out

I've put it all back together and now have no lights at all in the right cluster, including the LED rear tail light. Unfortunately I didn't check before if the rest were working so don't know if its something I've done or the whole unit is dead?

I've checked the fuse and that's all fine.

Over the last week the fault hasn't been constant, some days I could driver 20 miles before the check rear light warning came up, should of known it was going to be as simple as just a bulb

Anyone had anything similar? Guessing I'm going to have to buy a whole new cluster

You've already released the safety lock on the plug, right?

Yeah, it was just the corrosion making it stiff to get off i think. The passenger side came off no problem at all and was clean

Check to see if any of the connector pins are bent or have broken when reconnecting.

The pins all look straight. I did spend a while giving it a good spray of WD40 and used a small brush to clean them up a bit
