Skoda Felicia/Favorit/Forman (1.3 OHV) - Ultimate Engine Oil For Warmer (HOT) Climates

Featured Replies

After years of extensive testing and research to identify the optimal all-season oil (-5℃ to 45℃) for our vehicles, I am pleased to say that I have finally found it.

The ideal oil needed to meet several demanding criteria:

  • High viscosity stability under extreme operating temperatures, to accommodate our engines’ larger tolerances — thus, a 50-weight oil was required.

  • Excellent cold-flow characteristics, ensuring smooth pumping during cold starts, minimizing noise and vibration while operating in protected RPM mode.

  • Strong cleaning and detergent properties, to maintain internal engine cleanliness and longevity.

  • Outstanding seal compatibility, preventing leaks and ensuring long-term reliability.

  • Easy availability, ensuring practicality for consistent use.

  • A modern formulation capable of delivering high performance while remaining fully compatible with our older engine designs.

Oil change interval with this at 7000 Km or less?

Seems to be a great potential choice, particularly if you have been using it for a couple of oil changes.

Possibly a bit more than you personally need given you drive your Felicia very carefully (maiden aunt going to Sunday church style) but also given how infrequently you drive your Felicia the extra protection would be most welcome.

I think @D.FYLAKTOS should test it in his Felicia for real world use be he is against 50 weights, the "Made in Germany" should be an attraction though (for you German car /German car engineering fans).

I would favour it over a VW choice.

@nta16 The top seller car brands here are Toyota and then Hyundai and Suzuki.

Germany is one of the most hated countries here, we heavy slander the German politicians and many people boycot German products.

We consider Felicia as a car with CZ body-metals-plastics-gearbox etc and only few German electronics parts.

I am forced to do them my friend. I run out of time before running out of mileage.

As I said, 2 years is a LONG time. At that interval the car nowadays drives around 3000km (1500km per year).

Try Ravenol on your next oil change, you won't regret it. It took me a LONG LONG time to actually find an oil that we can trust for these vehicles and that has a modern formulation. This is IT.

That oil is not expensive from the UK supplier, in fact a low price that would cause concern for its actual quality (perhaps it's the exchange rate from Euro to GBP).

1500km is 930 miles per year, that's more of a static museum display piece than a moving car.

Provided the engine oil gets fully warmed the few times T's Felicia is actually driven then the oil coming out at the 2-year change could probably easily be used for D.F's Felicia annual use, recycling so price of P&P only, a real bargain!
