CCM faulty?

Featured Replies

Hello everyone!

I was trying to code remote controls on a key that I bought, but it showed on [46] central convenience, adaption, the first option that is not available. So I scanned faulty codes on the [46] and all these popped up. Unfortunately I can't send the logs, as I cleared the codes, but they pop up slowly again as I drive it more. Could this be a CCM problem? Or is it something else?

Everything works, locks, windows. Sometimes the rear right lock doesn't work and I have to close it manually. The windows sometimes go up and down when I try to lower them, but I am pretty sure it's because of the main window buttons

These work on a loop system. So the rear works off the front loom. A break or corrosion on the wire will cause issues. The above states there is a short to ground, so there must be a break somewhere. I would remove the front door card and inspect the whole loom for continuity. Very common, so look at the blocks, and wires going through the door frames and the B pillar with the connector blocks connect together.

Example of what happened to mine (extreme)

Okay I'll check the wires. I had issues with the driver's loom before and couldn't unlock the car, but I have fixed, so I'm quite familiar with it.

Somewhat out of topic. Could this cause vcds to show central lock not available?

I agree probaly a short or maybe poor earth somewhere.

If there is a bad signal from door locking mechanisms theres no guarantee that all doors will lock so knowing VW/Skoda they may well have a system to disable central locking so you dont leave car with a door unlocked. Just a guess.

Indeed. That would be similar to plugging in a device to the wall socket and not connecting it to the device...

If there is a wire broken somewhere (as an example), then it cannot communicate.

Thank you both of you for your help. I'll trace the wires and grounds tomorrow and I'll update you.

Hello! Sorry for the late update, the weather wasn't on my side.

I checked all the wires and they all seem fine, even the one on the driver's side that had broken off and fixed it a few months ago. The only thing that I didn't check was the ground for the CCM. Is it a standalone wire that bolts into the chassis or does it go back to battery?

I rescanned the faults so you have a better idea.

I'll remove all the panels this weekend as I will be off work, to make sure it's not hidden behind the panels.
