Fitting New Reverse Camera Not Fitting

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am wanting to get some clarification on this, I have been sent for my Superb estate the following camera/handle but it seems that the rear of the handle is a little longer than the one removed.

The overall length of both are the same but just the rear is longer on the new one, this means it doesn't fit. Other than sanding down the opening is this the correct one?

Existing is a all squared edge but been sent a 2 corners being round for a 2018 Estate.

Thanks

@SashaGrace are you still around to confirm this or not, thanks

It should be obvious from the differences (two round edges, part number, length), that this is not the correct one.

Thanks, my local Skoda dealership has confirmed with part number which doesn't match.

Annoyed as gave them my reg and also asked before hand that I was sent this one and would it still fit etc.

Awaiting an response on this, thanks for confirming

The part number is differentiated as follows: up to production date 07/07/2019, it is 3V0827566X. X is the index depending on the vehicle's equipment. From production date 08/07/2019 onwards, it is 566827566X.

Why is the dealer giving me a different number?

The number for the unit I have is the one mentioned in your comment above, for up to 2019 but this is the rounded edge handle and doesn't fit

It's relatively easy to explain. The OEM number on your purchased camera was ground off, and the other one is engraved. Originally, it's cast or printed.

Are you saying the camera which is on the left of the picture with them side by side is fake?

This i mean

Yes thats the new one, which doesn't fit on my Estate but is the one you have listed above which should fit?

I meant that the article number was definitely listed, which is what the camera actually had.

Ok, but is this the correct one for my vehicle as they are saying to file down the plastic on the unit

I've never had to edit a camera before.
