Discrepancy between G62 sensor and dashboard gauge

Featured Replies

Hi. I’ve got a Skoda Octavia 2011 1.6 TDI CAYC and with the recent temperatures I’m experiencing slow warming of coolant temperature. I’ve pot my diagnostic toll on it and I got no code but I’ve seen a discrepancy between Coolant temperature sensor G62 and the gauge from dashboard. When the gauge is showing 90 degrees the coolant temperature sensor is showing 77 degree (this is at idle) however if I start driving temperature at sensor is rising but at maximum 80 degrees. Also I’ve changed the thermostat about 2 years ago. Could be a faulty sensor ?

Dashboard gauges are 'frigged' to display a reassuring temperature over a range of real temperatures.

Feature not fault.
