2021 Vrs Phev battery range

Featured Replies

I know it's heading towards the cold period but what should be the full charge range. I have 30k on clock and on full charge it reads 28 at best.

Can this be linked to battery age, is there anyway to determine the health of the battery.

For a 13kwh battery 28 miles sounds reasonable in the cold what did you get last winter

Good question.... Maybe around 30 but on a cold day around 27

Mine has gone from 34 miles on Monday to 25 this morning! But snowing and temp below zero (Scotland). So not surprised. Also predicted range will depend on recent driving - if only round town then predicted range will increase, if all high speed motorway then will go down.

My last EV (a Zoe) range started declining significantly at about 9 years so probably your battery not deteriorating yet!

Put the heater on and it will go down turn it off it will go back up as well.

^^^ Well that really depends on the Ambient temperature and then how much higher or lower than that you want the interior at.

Heater, air conditioning, seat/steering wheel heaters, window/mirror heaters, they all eat the battery and they eat it pretty fast. In the summer I do about 48 km and about 25 km in the winter. That's why I switch on the hybrid mode constantly to manage it.

They can when the weather is cold. This is Winter, cold this week, not anything like as cold last week. AC might not be needed if no steaming up, and not that hot, and heating not needed if the temp you want in the car is much the same as outside. The beauty of Heated Seats and Steering wheels with BEV,s and even PHEV,s. & Heat pumps. Heated mirrors / wipers / lights / radio etc using battery energy and not traction battery energy.

A lot of it is down to the previous journey. My wife has heating on high all the time so when she collects me the battery range is way down. I pop out that evening, have the air con temp much lower, park up and when I get back in again the range has increased.
