Poor Headlights

Featured Replies

Just purchased a 2021 Octavia and I’m shocked at how poor the led lights , when other cars overtake me by on the road and put my lights to shame. . The lights on my wife’s 2014 Toyota were way brighter. Hope someone can shed some light on”light “ on this for me.

I’m curious!

After 67k miles I remain impressed with the standard LED headlights in my 2020 mk4 Octavia. Makes me wonder if yours has a fault in some way (a failed diode or two? Faulty beam range adjuster? 🤷‍♂️).

I'll second the above, the Matrix LED's on my 2021 Octavia are awesome!

They must be, another one here who is really impressed with their headlights (2020 mk 4)

@Missyoctober What model Octavia do you have, and are you sure the lights are LED?

I think it was a case of RTFOM , went into infotainment system and found the adjustment was set to car with 5 people and the boot full , set it to correct adjustment and voila perfect lights. Happy days.

Perfect! Great result )

FWIW don't feel bad, there's a lot to learn on these cars after coming from something slightly more analogue! Took me ages to find all the different settings and adjustments etc., and I probably still haven't found everything!

The other day I found that the option of pressing and holding the button on the remote no longer lowered all the windows, even though the setting was on in the infotainment. Bit of a head scratcher, until I discovered that at some stage someone (maybe me) had held one of the window switches up or down too long which had reset the automatic feature on the windows, so not only did the remote not work but the 'hit the switch once' to wind the windows up automatically didn't work either.

Simply reset by winding windows all the way up and holding the button for 3 seconds, and then all the way down and holding for 3 seconds - now everything works as it should again. 'Simply clever' - too clever for it's own good sometimes.... 🤣😂

Well found! I hadn't thought of that setting being the likely cause 🙄

I can only imagine, the 32 element ones on the Mk4 are pretty awesome, yours must be like daylight! 😅
