2.0tdi problem with timing belt replacement

Featured Replies

Hi

My first time. Enginw cbbb.

I have loosen cam and pump sprockets. Have all locking tools except tensioner locking tool.

No matter what i do, new timing belt is pita to install. Very hard to but on place.

And when its placed, tensioner wont came even close. Feels like belt is allready too tight and tensioner cant tighten it enought to get mark on.

And im not talking about mark is close to where it should be, its far far away.

Got this. It only needed big power to turn.

Locking pin at camshaft is about 5.7mm. 5mm drill bit went nicely to hole and there was some play also. Didnt wanna mess sprocket bolts anymore. Lets see is it enought.

Feels like little bit noisier at cold idle (valvetrain type sound) but after couple minutes idle all ok.

Today test drive is judgement day. Hopefully no cam/crank based codes.
