Todays revelation....

Featured Replies

A 4 year old Audi A4 1.9tdi quattro is infinately better to drive than a brand new Vauxhall signum elite!!!!!.

Have been driving the boss's signum most the week.. what a cheap and tacky car it is!.. quite comfortable..

Then met up today to swap for this audi... and im much happier :D

even with 93k on the clock its tighter, less rattly and much better to drive.

real quattro is mucho fun on roundabouts... rekon a remapped one would be a blast

Anyone else got any experience of a Signum? Just seems I can get a 2.2 DTI on an 04 for a straight swap for the Corsa. ;)

I should think even my Dad's old P plate Audi A4 would be better than a new Signum....

Not sure if there are any web-sites out there that give official figures, but I suspect the Signum has got to be one of the biggest depreciating cars on the market today, based on some of the 2nd hand prices I have seen.

Never driven one though, but perhaps Col's brief review explains why.

I guess they are a 2nd hand bargain if they float your boat!

Its the new Omega. :D

Have been 'alllll the way' in the back of a signum in Portugal. 2.0 Turbo, Which had been remapped, 4 People in the car, and bloody hell it was fast....

No experience of the Signum, but both the Citroen Xantia and the Octy mk1 are way better cars than the V*ctr@!

Speak to PhilC, he has a 3.0l DTI Signum ;)

Chris

Someone mention my name?

Yes, they do depreciate fast. Mine was 27K new, and I got it at 8 months old for 15K.

It really depends what you like. The 3.0 Cdti engine gives it the same performance as my old L&K octy, but it will do 45 mpg on a run. It's comfortable for me and the passengers, and has lots of toys.

The 2.2 DTi is quite an old engine -the 1.9 is better. Give it a try and see what you think.

Phil

Your L&K a petrol then? Asking cos I'd be far from impressed with a 3.0l diesel engine that did 10mpg less than a 2.0l, and couldn't outrun the smaller unit.
