Seat adjustment, resets when getting in

Featured Replies

So i have the key for myself, set the seat hearing the bong but each time I lock the car and then get in the seat slightly raises each time.

I set each of the memory buttons to the same postion and each one will raise the seat slightly, is there a reason why its doing this. When I had a Seat Tarraco the seat memory would just remember the key and put the seat to the setting that had in memory.

Do you have the seat at the full lower position? I'm other words at the end of its postion?

Yes I have it fully tilted down/up so the back is lower.

Yup, I'm the same as you. Ass down all the way. I think the seat doesn't like being sat at the limit of it's position. It always works it's way back up a little.

Yes you can see it when you unlock the car it moves it back up slightly

I never noticed the actual movement 🤔

I sat in the car, locked it and then unlocked with the seat raising whilst I sat in it

That doesn't happen in my case at all. Are you saving the profile to the key manually? Have you heard the ping when you save the position on the seat itself?

I press Set and then a number hear a boing but then pushing the buttons it moves the seat each time to where it would be when opening the car

Driving me crazy why it’s doing it

Found this thread when doing a google, might try the seat all the way forward and up etc tomorrow

I'd read that before. Did you try it?

Tried it a little while ago whilst on the school run, does the same as before. Might phone Skoda about it add it to the list for next week

Let me know how you get on.

Didn't take the car to the dealership today due to the costs that might of been involved for the suspension review.

Anyway, been reading again the posts about seats and the memory, I have tried loads of all the say forward, back, up and down etc with still the same result, setting with then locking and unlocking the car and the seat moves up slightly.

Now what I did notice that at each end of each movement, all the way forward or back, up and down that it would require me to press the movement button again to go past that point to the true end of the allowance. So I am not sure if that has something to do with it.

Yeah, i was playing with my seats too. Same result as you.

I still think it's the motor that doesn't like being stopped at the extreme position. The controller maybe winding it back as a preventative measure.

I maybe just take my car in for this, in theory I shouldn't have to pay as it's not working.

Tried all sorts to reset it and it doesn't do it how the videos show or how people mention

Car went to Skoda today for them to look at this, apparently it’s the extreme limit so it will reset each time

Wondering if I can lock in that position with then the heated seat still working

It's a safety thing for the seat motor railing.

U can't change it.

If u exceed the motors max and min positions, u'll upset the seat module controller, which will then need a software fix or replaced altogether.

I've had my seat module replaced.

But why is Skoda the only one todo this? Never had it any other car, very annoying

I think this is the problem with mine. Does the memory module have to be coded? Can it be done with vcds if so?

Mine moves fine but doesn’t save any memories.

My can save the settings, I ge the bong etc but just it goes back up about 1cm so away from the extreme setting

The module needs to flashed with a software update/version.

Not a VCDS thing.

Mine had exceeded it's min/max thresholds - as a result, it was't remembering any of the saved settings.

I did the whole seat calibration procedure but to no avail.

In the end I took it back to Skoda and they replaced the seat module with later revision, under warranty.

Original:- 5Q0 959 760 B

Fixed:- 5Q0 959 760 C

No issues since then.

My local Skoda dealershiop seem like they don't want to know, I have phoned them again this morning to ask what was done yesterday and that a Seat Tarraco I had didn't do this with more or less the same seat/function

Also have phoned some other localish dealerships and waiting for a call back from one of them on the symptoms I am experiencing

Car has been at the Dealers yesterday, whilst getting the screen replaced, they checked the seat and 2 techs have said this is normal behaviour, but don't have another to test against.

I have said that this didn't happen on my Tarraco with the same seat controls etc. But thinking about it now, the Tarraco was a newer model so could of had the newer seat module.

@JR RS where is the module located so I can have a look, they said no firmware updates etc for the current one.

I think it is standard feature when set to the extreme of range. Mine doesn’t do it but my memory doesn’t work.

Module is under the seat.

I’d happily swap Modules with you…mine doesn’t work at all!
