Columbus update stuck

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a MY22 Kodiaq and my Columbus is able to make some software updates "on its own".

I've accepted an update after a notification. See topic below:

Though there was a message saying this update would be performed in background even if I go back to radio, GPS, or whatever and even if I leave the car, it's stuck. The "update" button is greyed and the progression indicator is frozen.

I've rebooted the Columbus 2 or 3 times, but nothing changes. But I'haven't tested a SW reset using my VCDS yet.

It's now several days it's stuck.

Any idea?

TIA for your help.

Pull the fuse from the MIB and the OCU for 30 minutes.

OK, I'll try this.

OCU: O? Control Unit?

Online Control Unit

Emergency in the roof

OK, but it sounds a bit strange to remove fuse of the OCU to address a Columbus problem 🤔...

Are they on a commun fuse?

OCU is for OTA Update

Hi,

I intend to remove the fuse within the week-end. But I'm not sure I understand properly.

Shall I remove both fuses from the Infotainment (Fuse #10 - 7,5A - Multimedia System Control Unit) + the Emergency call in the overhead panel (Fuse #17 - 7,5A - Control unit in dash panel insert, control unit for emergency call module and communication unit) for 30mn (contact being OFF)?

Do I get it right?

TIA. 🙂

Yes, or Take Off the Batterie

Hi,

I've removed both fuses for 35mn. But no joy, the update is still stuck. The 'progression circle' remains at the same point.

I will try for a longer time...

Hi,

I won't be optimistic too quickly, but it could be possible that I've got my Columbus update out of it's "stuck mode".

I've plugged my VCDS cable and erased some fault codes in the 5F module :

1 Fault Found:

0012 - Digital Radio Antenna

B1103 11 [00001001] - Short to Ground

Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear

Freeze Frame:

Fault Priority: 6

Fault Frequency: 1

Reset counter: 40

Mileage: 62920 km

Date: 2026.03.28

Time: 14:32:22

Connection between radio and antenna amplifier: Short circuit

Connection between antenna amplifier and antenna: Not available

Antenna current: 116 mA

Voltage terminal 30: 11.6 V

It could be a reason why the update was stuck.

I've erased the fault code. I'll check tomorrow, whether it comes back or not and if next update fails too.

But I've no idea how to fix that... I assume there's something to do with the 'heating grid' on the tailgate window...

Something strange happened yesterday. My Columbus downloaded and installed system update #03A82 or something like that.

It went fine and I got a message: "Update completed, OCU is available", whereas the 3 updates I mentioned previously are style pending stuck.

Anyway, I'll have my local dealer to take a look in 2 weeks.

I finally dropped my Kodiaq by my local dealer yesterday. They've reinstalled the SW of the Columbus (5F Contol Unit).

It seems it made everything come back to normal. The Update wen to its end.

😀
