2021 Octavia IV. Found this wire under the boot floor, the square sliver pad appears to have been stuck down at some time. The wire seems to go under the side mat and across to the other side of the spare wheel well, can't make out where it goes from there. Anyone got any idea what it is or what it does?

Factory item for sensing damp / H2O. A common question / thread / subject for many a year now.

Wouldn't have guessed that. Does it trigger a warning or somthing?

To the factory employees. / Production line. PS. Pity it does not stay active. Then owners might get a warning the spare tyre well is full of water before finding it. Sunroof drains blocked. Rear Hatch seal, rear light gasket etc.

I tought that this is antena for boot open, because some times i cant remotely open boot with key fob, when standing 5-6m infront of the car, lock unlock works flawless
but boot opening happens when i get littlebit sideways from front of the car.

Nope, I had it on my previous Octavia that didn't have the remote opening boot. I also have it on my current one that does
