Kamiq wipers stop below 7 mph

Featured Replies

Hi,

2023 kamiq 1.0 tsi windscreen wipers are now stopping when the car speed is below 7MPH or the car is stationary, have tried a reset but it made no difference. Phoned the dealership and the woman said its a feature of the car, but it did not do it before.Anyone know which buttons to press to deactivate this feature.

From my experience with my Karoq and a Stellantis car, I would say this is quite normal.

Surely your cars wipers can work to clear snow or rain when stopped in traffic or going slow. At a MOT the car is not driven to check the wipers.

when i stop at traffic lights the wipers stop and will not work untill i reach 7 mph but the rear wipe will work when stopped. it will be intersting when i go for an mot.

(Polo) If my wipers are on constant speed, they will go to intermittent once I've stopped and will then resume constant operation when I move off but don't know if I must reach a minimum speed for this to happen. (Will check tomorrow)

yes this is what mine used to do ( they will go to intermittent once I've stopped and will then resume constant operation when I move off ) Now when the speed drops they just stop dead it can be in the middle of the screen or on any position and cannot be moved to clear the screen , if it starts to snow it will be very dangerous.

A new innovation from Skoda.... Its the Stop/Start Wiper!.

Never seen that behaviour. I often sit stationary with my wipers working.

Another nice touch, if the wipers are on, either intermittently, or constantly, and you reverse into a parking spot or where ever, the rear wiper then operates automatically while the car is in reverse gear.

It is a nice feature. But on any cars i have had for about the past 10 years you ticked / enable that. In fhs opfions screen. Like driver door lock only or take me home lights

.

No mention of any wiper cleverness in the owner manual.

Other that the "automatic" rear wipe (configurable in settings) and the "service" position.

Yes, wipers resume constant operation once I move off.

On a number of VWs I've owned, if the bonnet wasn't closed properly, the wipers just didn't operate.
