Steering strange after violent swerve

Featured Replies

I have a 2005 Skoda Fabia 6Y2 VRs. Yesterday I had to swerve violently, although by a small degree, to avoid a car coming the other way on the wrong side of the road. I didn't hit any potholes or objects, but the steering immediately felt wrong. - I thought I had a puncture, but I didn't. It seemed better after I had checked the wheel and set off again, but something happened. Does anyone know what caused this?

Did any steering warning lights come on? It may have been the steering angle sensor/steering pump that's had a blip when you swerved and gone heavy or your steering fluid is low. It may have reset itself when you stopped and restarted. Is the steering wheel centred and when driving on straight flat road not pulling to left or right.
