I need to replace the shroud/switch unit that sits around my DSG gear selector, I've pulled the trim up so it's now sitting underneath the gear knob.

So, any tips on how to remove the head of the gear knob so I can slip the shroud over it in order to replace it please?

See attached. I've included the Superb section that is before the Kodiaq steps since it has a few piccies that may help.

Key points seem to be

1. Avoid depressing the lock button during removal and replacement - if you do there is a procedure to reset it

2. You need a new clamp to replace the one that is removed, along with accompanying tool.

I've removed the gear knob, but the lock button is now depressed 'in', do you have the procedure to reset the lock button please?

I sourced the 'special tool' from Temu, and managed to reset the DSG button so it was in the 'out' position. Refitted the knob and the surrounding trim panel too.
