Hi I have a SKODA SUPERB 1.5T(24+)ES/A SE TECH and just had pointed out that my passanger revering light is not lighting when in reverse. Looked for a replacement bulb and it seams It a full light box i have to get. I have been told that only the drivers side now has the reverse light. this to me is a safty issue to only have one reverse light. A mate of mine has the 4x4 estate and both side light up. which is correct got the feeling that the dealer just dosent want to replace it as it would still be in warenty. thanks

Think it depends on trim level and if its UK or EU. It may be that there is only one as UK law states one is adequate. I assume its LED so if there is no LED light there it would require a new unit plus probably VCDS to tell car its fitted. If there is an LED unit there then it may be possible to tell car to operate it.

Another thing to check is the build code/Pr codes. Not sure if reversing lights are mentioned but if it states that two reversing lights are fitted then there should be two. 8TA is tail light with reversing light

@Ed-hunter If 1 reversing light or 1 Rear Fog light is a safety issue then millions of vehicles in the UK are unsafe. Who told you it was a Safety Issue? Time they told the DfT / DVSA in the UK and those that Type Approve passenger cars.

Have a look in the vehicle hand book or beside spare wheel. You are looking for a sticker

I use https://www.oemvwshop.com/pr-code-decoder/ to decode them. As said not sure if reverse lights are mentioned specificly. You may have to get a full list from Skoda.

My 2024 SE Tech Estate has only one reversing light, presumably by design but I don't know 100%!!

The lighting regulations only require one rear fog light to be fitted on the offside half (i.e. anywhere from the centre of the vehicle outwards) - Peugeot especially take advantage of this since it means they can fit a single rear fog light on the centre rear.

Similarly the lighting regulations only require one reversing light. I had 2 Audi B6 Avants from different build years - the earlier build had 2 but the later build had only 1, presumably as a cost saving.
