Blank button usb mod

Featured Replies

HI everyone!

I was wondering does anybody know if it's possible to add charging usb port to one of the blank/"poverty" button in front of the gear stick?

While physically possible, it will likely require cutting or drilling, as I can't find any button fascias on aliexpress or similar with a USB port for an Octavia 3
It's not helped by the fact that the fascia is one part rather than seperate removable blanks

That's exactly what I want to avoid. I also searched for buttons with usb port but I could only find those for Golf mk6. Although these seems like exactly what I want, does anybody know they are compatible with the Octavia 3?

These don't match the button blanks in front of the gearstick
The actual USB element would work fine, as all it needs is 12v from somewhere suitable, but if aesthetics are your main goal, nothing seems to exist for Mk3 Octy

I figured, and that's the reason I made this post in a hope that somebody found a solution for this, who can share it with us.

I work on electronics so connecting with the charger's leads is not a problem, my problem is exactly as you thought is with aesthetics, since I was hoping that exist some aftermarket solution for it. I will stick with the lighter port usb charger than.
