Karoq Sportline issues

Featured Replies

Hello guys. I'm looking to buy a new Skoda Karoq 2.0 TDI DSG 150hp.

TDI because I live in Croatia and do a lot of miles on the open, country roads, and DSG because my wife is afraid of driving a manual.

What are the main issues of the Karoq? Couple of things I read:

  • safety assist - I heard lane assist can be pretty inacurrate and that front assist can brake for no reason, even causing an accident. Is the best thing just to shut them off when starting the car? Do you have to shut it off every time you start the car? I don't plan on adding any extra safety features, these are standard

  • Steering to the right for no reason - read that is a deal in Skoda cars, not a torque steer, but a steer at low acceleration, the wheel goes to the right..

  • Oil consumption - the car looses 1L of oil per 1k km, really?

  • Door alignment wrong?

  • Hard plastics on the inside, even the Sportline trim?

Anybody had or heard of these issues?

Anything else I should be worried about, besides this and the whole diesel thing (dpf, egr, etc.)? Thanks!

Welcome. If it loses 1 litre in 1,000 km then that is twice what VW Group says Might be the oil consumption and they say that about every engine and have for 2 decades. No need to switch off Lane Assist or anything else if it behaves and suits your driving. Many that like to wonder out of lanes say they switch it off. Actually they are the ones that should probably keep it on. Re Steering to the Right or is that to the left in the UK. Car set up wrong, tyre run out wrong, people unaware of Tyre runout stripes when fitting them.
