skoda karoq se drive TSI 1.5 1110w. sump guard

Featured Replies

How does the sump guard come off?

There are 8 screws on the sides and 1 in the middle front, 3 large torx screws and 2 large plastic plugs at the rear .

Its the plugs at the rear that I cant get off without cutting them off . Any clues any one ?

Hi

By Sump guard you mean the plastic engine under cover, like if you were changing oil and filter. When I did mine I just undid all the fasteners you've listed and pulled it down and backward so it came off the bumper edge. I didn't notice any plastic plugs. Mine just fell off at the back when the fixings where all off. Only slight hiccup I had was having front of car high enough to get the cover clear and out. If its not been off recently may just need a sharp tug ! Unless newer or older ones are different to mine (21) model year.

Its a 22 reg petrol . I had to get brutal with them , 25mm hex heads on plastic studs , which had stripped the thread on the plastic bit and were giving the impression they were meant to be unclipped or something in a certain way. Hammer and screwdriver way was the only way I found . Two large zip ties are now there holding up the rear of the tray.

just like yours but an extra 80/100 mm longer after the large torx screws at the rear

Glad you got there in the end. Yours must be a little different to mine or mine came off without me noticing. I've bought a vacuum pump to change the oil as I don't change the filter every time and it makes the job easy when just changing the oil.
