Fabia mk1 rear tailgate

Featured Replies

Hello all, need some help please!!!

I've got mk1 fabia 2006 locking and up locking is playing up. Passenger door doesn't always open and now the boot won't open unless I open a rear door. Any ideas on what to check or fix? Thanks guys any help would be greatly appreciated

Maybe broken wires in passenger door gaiter and also in tailgate gaiter?

All ok in the front doors as ive checked those already. Ill check the rear wiring. Its strange that I open the rear door and I can open the boot.

It might be a failing door lock actuator thats confusing system. Might be worth scanning it with vcds. It may point to a problem with one of the rear doors or boot lock actuator. On my octavia the drivers door opens with fob but requires a second press to unlock front passenger door, rear doors and boot. There is also a button on fob for boot only. Its a pain and still havent worked out how to make whole car open with one press. I assume yours is different like my sons mk1 fabia with only lock and unlock on fob.

Ill have a look into this thank you. Yea just a unlock and lock button on the fob. It not locking the passenger door now 🤦🏻‍♀️

It could be a faulty CCM. I believe it locks and unlocks doors plus windows etc but if failing can get confused. I read they are prone to corosion due to water ingress. A scan should pick up any faults.

See if the lights left on warning noise happens for each of the front doors being opened, with lights left on, keys out of ignition.

If it doesn't, replace front door lock modules until it does.

You'll probably find that doing this fixes tailgate issue, cos the tailgate is meant to stay locked until the car senses one or more of the car doors being opened first.

Currently it seems not to be getting such info until you open a rear door.
