One of the things I miss in my TDi vRS Mk 3 is the CD player in the boot that I had in the much-missed Mk 2. Has anyone had any experience of a separate CD player in the car playing back through the "Media" part of the infotainment system?

I do have music in my Galaxy A26 phone but I can't seem to get it to play albums in the car, it will only play one single track at a time.

Been asked several times on here, answer is always the same - this generation of infotainment systems doesn't support a CD player or changer.

You need to rip your CDs and copy the MP3 files onto an SD card.

Thanks Dave, that's what I was afraid might be the answer. The problem I have is that my new DELL laptop doesn't have a CD/DVD player built in so unless I can find an inexpensive CD player to plug in, I am stuck with what I have.

Does the SD card fit in the extra slot in the glovebox unit?

I'm a bit of a Luddite when it comes to electronickery, give me an engine to work on any day!

Yes, music goes into the non-GPS SD port - can't remember, but I think that's port 2.
