Had An Argument With A Friends Gate Post...

Featured Replies

..and lost! I was reversing out of their drive last night and never saw the small gate post, tried to turn, heard a bang and then, well, you can see from the pics. So mad at myself but left it until this morning to have another look at it.

Pics 1 & 2 were mostly on the skirt and that has all come off with just washing it down with a sponge. However, Pic 3 shows where I hit the post whilst turning. Most of it has come off (Pic 4 & 5) but there is a slight dent and plastic bit in the wheel arch (don't know it's technical name) is out of shape. Pic 5 shows after it has been washed but the skirt is no longer flush. Pic 6 shows the most lasting damage I think as the paint has been scraped back to the metal.

I can't see any other damage so the questions I have are:

  1. Do I get it repaired or leave as is?

  2. Can I replace the skirts myself or just leave them?

  3. Can I get a paint repair kit and do that myself?

We've had the car since new (2016) and we'll probably be getting a new one next year. I'm just so annoyed that this happened.
