Skoda's Octavia Gets A Second Facelift To Catch Up With I...

Spy photographers have snapped an updated Octavia, which features changes inside and out

So this randomly popped up on my newsfeed this morning. Nothing too exciting, no real mention of any ground breaking changes be them aesthetic, mechanical or otherwise...

I just find it interesting that they're throwing out another facelift model so soon after the 4.5?

At least they are bringing PHEV back.

This will probably be the last model enhancement on the Mk4 Octi, which has to be kept alive until 2030 and perhaps a little beyond (in which case another tweak could be on the cars a couple of years down the road).

Skoda isn't alone in doing this to existing models as the market is in a state of flux at the moment with demand for pure BEVs (which were mandated to be the majority if not the total of a maker's sales) faltering once the tax incentives to buy one dried up. Facelifts are a whole lot cheaper than coming up with totally new models.

Knobs on the A/C control like the Superb? Hope so.

Yeah, I like that about the new Superb myself. Not often my infotainment has played up thankfully (touch wood) but it's still a faff on having your climate controls buried in there.

Always gets me how they changed the law in the UK to ban using hand held devices whilst driving, rightfully so, but simultaneously made all of the controls for your vehicle part of your touchscreen infotainment system! Crazy

Interesting they’d do this so soon after the 4.5. Maybe just the new front and rear look (I’d have to see it to see if it’s better than current) and switch to the new android automotive infotainment inside.

I wish they’d provide my preferred facelift which is 4WD with the golf R engine or preferably the RS3 engine a la the Formentor
