Bit desperate for some help. The steering rack on my Skoda Fabia MK2 VRS has fully gone. Been told I need to find a replacement by the part number: 6R2423055J. But having an absolute mare in trying to find a reasonably priced one. Are there any other VAG cars that share it ? Or cheaper options in general? Cheers.

Try searching for 6R2423055L instead. That superseded the suffix J part.

Also try to find a part number sticker on your current rack. The above numbers are rack plus both track rods and ends, you presumably could be OK with just rack itself. A lot of secondhand ones will be advertised by this sticker number, not the 'all in one' part number.

Avoid any that have 1 as the third character in part number, they'll be LHD.

Eny VAG car on the PQ24/25 platform should fit your fabia as the mk2 fabia rs sits on the PQ25 so eny vw polo seat ibiza or audi a1 should fit your fabia
