High-pitched whining noise from the engine bay – Octavia iV

Hi everyone,

I have a 2023 Octavia RS iV and I've noticed a high-pitched whining noise coming from the engine bay when the petrol engine is running. I can hear it both when the car is stationary and while driving.

The noise has an “eeee” sound to it and seems to increase in pitch.

I've attached a video recorded from outside the car.

Has anyone experienced a similar noise on their Octavia iV or RS iV? Is this normal, or could it indicate a problem with a component in the engine bay?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Noise is also audible when the car is stationary with the petrol engine running, without pressing the accelerator. Would a normal turbo whistle be noticeable under those conditions too?
