Is 16 Inches enough ?

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I think I made a mistake, I bought and Octy II with the standard 16" they look a little small but they feel OK, do you think its worth upgrading to 17" or 18" and are they very expensive?

I have an Ambiente with 15s and they look small, but handle ok. I'd have been happy with 16s.

Main problem with 17+ is the cost of tyres. Oh, and the fact they might ruin the ride.

PS - If you are going fast enough, no-one will be able to see what size they are ;)

Thanks sooty, kind of reconfirmed what I was thinking, might try and swing a swap with the dealer when i take it in for the 5,000 kms service

16's are a good compromise for handling and ride. It all gets a bit too rough for my liking on 17's.

I quite like my 17" with the sport suspension personally, I also think this combination fills the wheel arches out more and makes the car look nicer.

I've had 17's on my last 2 cars. Previous car was an A4 Avant Sport and that was a harsh ride, the Octy on 17's with sports suspension is far more forgiving but still has a good feel and excellent traction!
