Looking to get a spare key fob as unfortunately my secondhand OctyII only came with one key. Does anyone know where the serial number is on the key, I can't find it anywhere!

The original owner would have been supplied with a plastic tag that contains the Immo Code (Although I have a feeling that this may now have been stopped)

You will need to approach your dealer and ask them to get your immo code for you. You can program it yourself once you have the code if you have VAG-COM.

I got the Immo code when I picked mine up recently

The dealer said they can get the code but it can take a while :(

I've not got the IMMO code nor VAG-COM. I guess I'll have to ask the dealer to get it and program the immobiliser.

I bought an identical looking Skoda Octavia key (cheaply) on flea-bay and am wondering whether there is an easy way of telling whether it will be compatible with my immobiliser.....

The car was cheap, but naturally there are a few minor snags! It's an OctyII Elegance with the 140bhp TDI and 6 speed and so far (after 2 day) I'm very impressed

IF you open yhe key I think there is a frequency sticker inside - 437mhz rings a bell but I could be completely wrong.
