How do I turn the **** lights off?

Featured Replies

Not sure about the alarm beep tbh. My dealers techie seems to know everything and it would seem there is a reason why they won't turn this on for UK cars so I doubt the maxidot will have this option. Also daylight running lights is a legal requirement in many countries so it's not legal for Skoda to give the customer the option of turning them off. It could of course apply to UK only models but I doubt it as we always get less functionality, not more.

Indeed. I have the 2007 model. It has an item in maxidot called ATA Confirm that (as far as I can understand) is supposed to turn the beep on/off. It doesn't seem to do anything as far as I can tell.

Having said that, I'm not sure I want the beep on anyway so I'm not too bothered!

Well, I called the dealer - Williams, Bristol - at about 11.00am Monday, problem sorted by 2.00pm. Done under warrantee.

My L&K estate DSG was delivered (at long last, ordered in May!) yesterday, still with the day time runnning lights enabled, 2 calls to Ingrams @ Ayr (the supplying dealer / company car) resulted in 2 long conversations where they stated initially that they (the lights) would turn off in the morning? (ambient light levels?) and secondly that this was a standard feature and according to their service department it couldn't be disabled.

I mentioned the Briskoda forum and this particular thread and questioned what was the point of having the "tunnel light" option etc..? and all of a sudden "would you like it turned off?" was the question. As I write this they are contacting my local dealer (D M Keith) to arrange for this to be done

Another good reason to be a Briskoda member I reckon!

I still think there is way too much electronics on these cars outside the immediate control of the driver/owner.

Well I rolled up at D M Keith's in Ossett this aternoon to arrange to get the lights turned off, Where upon they immediately took the keys off me and had the job done in 10 minutes flat!

Very impressed with the service and delighted they will be doing the servicing on this car

My car does have the alarm "beep" which sounds when locking the car though, it doesn't bother me in fact I quite like it, it's not very loud and sounds kinda classy (if that makes sense)

Rest of the car is a delight (so far) I'm impressed with it, and happy I waited for it
